Epic Announcement: I’m Going on My Dream Trip!

I really can’t believe it, but I just got off the phone with Delta and I booked flights to my #1 dream destination. I have literally dreamed of visiting this place my whole life and it feels surreal that it will finally be happening this October. So, where am I going?

I’M GOING TO SOUTH AFRICA!!!

Wow, that feels good to say. I’m Africa bound this October and will be going on an 8 day safari through Kruger National Park with Epic Enabled. Epic Enabled is a tour company that specializes in wheelchair accessible safaris. They have adapted safari trucks and I’ll be staying in accessible bungalows for a truly authentic safari experience. According to the itinerary, I will “hear the animal calls, taste traditional food, see the famous deep-red sunsets, feel the African heartbeat, meet other travellers, have fun & lots more”.

As an animal lover, being able to see so many animals in their natural environment will be unbelievable. I’m hoping that we’ll be able to spot the Big 5 while on safari. The “Big 5” refers to the animals that are the most difficult to spot and most dangerous. The Big 5 are the lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros. All of these animals can be seen in South Africa so I’ll just have to keep my fingers crossed.

I will have more updates between now and when I leave in October, and I’ll be blogging all about my trip of course, but I just had to tell you guys about my exciting plans. I am pretty certain that this will be my greatest trip yet and I am already counting down the days… I CAN’T WAIT!!

You’re going to LOVE it! I did Kruger last month and saw the big 5 before 8am and got rushed by a large male elephant!! Crazy. Will you be making it down to Cape Town?

Wow!! That is so awesome to hear! Although an elephant chasing you down sounds pretty scary. Lol! Would make for a memorable experience though! I’m probably not going to make it to Cape Town this time, but maybe…

  • That’s awesome! I remember when I booked my Africa trip and was counting the days. I started my blog after that trip to help others bc it was an incredible experience.

Safari is truly stunning and don’t forget to look at the little 5 and all of the colorful birds too! And table mountain at sunset is magic!

  • Congrats! I lived in South Africa in 1995 and then subsequently got a Master’s Degree in International Studies, specialization African Studies. All of my writings were on South Africa. It is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful countries in the world – highly diverse landscapes. It is also one of the most politically turbulent.

I very much enjoyed my time there and would love to visit again.

  • Oh Cory, you are going to have a fabulous time! That is one of my dream trips, too. I’m gonna start writing down all your dream trips because you keep realizing new ones. LOL I’m free if you need a “chaperone” LOL
