Take your Home’s Interior From Ordinary to Extraordinary

Your home’s interior is neat and tidy but looks boring. If this sounds like your house, there’s something missing and it’s a five-letter word called “bling.”

Why Add Bling?

If you love the bling on display with the latest trends in designer engagement rings, consider adding some sparkle to your home’s interior. When you hear the word bling, you may think of an over-decorated, over-embellished room with far too much going on. However, incorporating tasteful elements with bling into any room can turn it into a showpiece worthy of a cover shot on a magazine.

Change the Look Instantly

Projecting you into your home’s interior gives it a unique look in grand fashion. If you ever wonder how designers pull an entire room together and make it look exquisite, it’s the power of a few unique pieces with personality that enjoy an audience but can remain content in the background.

One example of this theory is paint. While you may not think a wall color can add bling, but it can. Dare to be different and travel into the unexplored territory of color. For example, if your walls are white or yellowish in color try a fresh look created by adding a bold magnolia color with a contrasting white trim and ceiling. When you enter the room it looks grand, warm and inviting.

Accessories Devine

You have a beautiful leather sofa and loveseat combination; however, the space feels anything but inviting. Here’s where adding a few sophisticated pieces such as a round glass coffee table with gold underneath, a few gold trinkets on the table for bling, and a couple of oversized velvet pillows in the same color palette will ultimately cozy up the space and give it a high-end appearance.

Using Mirrors

A wonderful trick that Realtors use to give a small space a much larger appearance is to place mirrors throughout the home. Mirrors brighten up any room and are also a great way to add bling without going over the top. Unique larger pieces with scroll edges and a gold or silver frame instantly add character and dress up a wall.

A Child’s Bedroom

If you have a little girl who loves pink, you have a pink bed and accessories. Try adding a crystal lamp and dressing it up with a pink fluffy shade. The crystal base will add your bling and the girly lampshade will add texture giving the room an elegant feel. On the dresser, place a beautiful silver mirror and a matching box for her hair accessories.

Lighting

In the kitchen, around an island or in a dining room above the table, replacing the existing fixtures with modern glass ones featuring geometric patterns with a touch of gold for accent will add shine and dramatically change the look of the space.

Updating the Bathroom

Glass adds an elegant feel to any space and countertops such as granite add the sheen. Adding glass inserts into the bathroom cabinets and a soft refined shag-style area rug will instantly glam up the place and make it feel like you’re stepping into a luxury hotel. Complete the look with a towel bar with a bronze or a gold finish.

Hardware

An excellent way to add bling in subtle fashion is to change out the existing hardware on existing furnishings such as cabinets and dressers. The good news is that there are so many styles to choose from it’s easy to find something different to make each room stand out on its own.

Adding bling to your home doesn’t mean it has to be over the top. It can easily remain subtle while performing an excellent job of tying a room together beautifully.
